Ardbeg Distillery to Age Scotch In Space

Single Malt Islay Scotch (my favorite scotch) in space (science!).

They want to determine what the effects of gravity are on the maturation of whisky.

I’m a bit of a whisky nut, so one day I may write a little bit about what I’ve learned. We’ll start off with talking about how awesome the idea of whisky in space is. We’ll also start off with the weird way I’m spelling whisky. In America and Ireland, whiskey is typically spelled with an E. This usually refers to Tennessee whiskey and Bourbon whiskey as a result. Whisky is the British English spelling, so it is not uncommon for Scotchophiles to simply refer to the beverage as whisky since this is the spelling used in Scotland. The name Scotch is infrequently used in Scotch circles unless discussing other whiskies where you would need to clarify.

Anywho, I’m off on a side street. Booze in space, people. That’s the takeaway.

Booze. In. Space.
