Apple is winning the Post-PC era, and anyone who still wants to try and fight that is insane. They aren’t doing it with brain washing or clever advertising or a “reality distortion field” or just riding off the fabricated good-will of their cult members.
They’re doing it by creating products that aren’t just best-of-breed, but products that define a whole new breed.
If I were running Apple, I would milk the Macintosh for all it’s worth — and get busy on the next great thing. The PC wars are over. Done. Microsoft won a long time ago.
— Steve Jobs to Fortune Magazine, 1996. Before his return to Apple.
Looks like he did just that.
