Use a Linode instance to watch BBC Olympics Coverage from the US

As you know, I’m a huge fan of the VPS service, Linode (affiliate link). If you don’t know what VPS is, then this article may not be for you unless you’re a little fearless, but the gist of it is that by locating a Linode instance in the UK then setting up a SOCKS proxy to run through an SSH tunnel connected to that instance (deep breath), you can get around regional restrictions and watch the BBC Olympic Coverage from your local machine here in good ole ‘merica.

Coincidentally, I have a node that I snagged during the Birthday Giveaway that I haven’t spun up yet, so I might just have to move that puppy over to the UK and get my ‘lympics on.
