NASA and IHMC Develop Robotic Exoskeleton for Space and Possible Use on Earth

The X1 was the first project I worked on at IHMC when I moved from summer intern to research intern, and I spent a year doing hardware integration and some software development on the project. I learned a lot, and I still get to do a little bit on the project here and there when I’m not too busy with DRC stuff. My role in this project was minor, I’m just happy to see it moving so quickly and doing so much. Very cool.

The guys at Johnson Space Center even made a video; the footage with the young paralyzed man was filmed in our lab. His name is Mark, and he’s been consulting with us and walking around in exoskeletons for a while now. Great guy.
